Meet Our Board

Cuba Flowers, President
Cuba Flowers stepped into the role of Board President for West Sound PAWS in December 2025, succeeding Becca Hanson just as the organization celebrated its landmark 50th anniversary. A familiar face at PAWS since 2019, Cuba’s dedication is rooted in a lifelong belief in the special bond between animals and the people who love them. He is deeply committed to ensuring West Sound PAWS remains a vital safety net for Kitsap County families, focusing on the compassionate programs that keep pets in their homes and hearts. For Cuba, leading the board is about more than governance; it’s about honoring the organization’s half-century of service while ensuring it remains a vibrant, community-focused resource for decades to come.

Becca Hanson, Member
Becca Hanson is Immediate Past-President of West Sound PAWS and is delighted to continue supporting Cuba and the incredible Board, Volunteers and Staff in caring for one another, as well as the animals and the Kitsap community who sit at the core of our mission.
Becca’s background lies in the design and integration of animal welfare priorities for zoos and animal rehabilitation facilities worldwide. With two grown sons, her own household has been populated, at one time or another and simultaneously by up to four cats and three dogs, innumerable Gerbils and several reptiles as everyone came to understand their responsibilities of care for these animals. Equally, her work in Australia and New Zealand have given her a profound understanding of the fatal dynamics between feral cat populations and native bird species, and the need for education and advocacy to care for all the animals that live amongst us.

Emily Agerton, Member
Emily Agerton is a marketing and brand strategy executive with more than 20 years of experience leading integrated campaigns, product initiatives, and growth strategies for regional and national organizations. Her career has been shaped by thoughtful execution, data-driven decision-making, and a deep respect for the role storytelling plays in building trust and connection.
She is known for fostering strong, collaborative teams and translating complex ideas into clear, human-centered experiences. Emily approaches her work through a servant leadership lens, prioritizing empathy, accountability, and the success of the people and communities she serves.
Emily brings this same leadership philosophy to her service on the West Sound PAWS board. As a Bainbridge Island resident and lifelong animal lover, she is passionate about advancing PAWS’ mission through advocacy, community engagement, and strategic storytelling. She believes that leadership is most meaningful when it amplifies others, protects the vulnerable, and inspires collective action.
Emily is honored to contribute her skills, voice, and heart to help West Sound PAWS continue creating safe, loving outcomes for animals and the people who care for them.
